“A city is smart when it brings benefits to communities, and society, and improves people’s daily lives by integrating technology and sustainable design and smart services, seamlessly into the built environment.” Mr. Anthony Arundell, Senior Vice President, Head of Smart City, Frasers Property Holdings (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said.

“We can achieve sustainability with the technologies that are included in Smart Cities. And when we adopt that it has to be inclusive; everyone has to be involved, and technologies are the enabler.” Dr. Thiti Vacharasintopchai, Smart Property Project Director, T.C.C. Technology Co., Ltd. said.

“Smart City” is emerging as a global trend that many people are talking, defined as integrated, technology-driven solutions utilizing AI, IoT, Big Data, etc. to solve the problems of cities, economic recession, vulnerable communities, environmental problems, for sustainable development in the future. As we have seen, such a framework has been implemented across many countries all over the world. In Thailand, for example, Rama IV Smart Cities District is committed to pursuing smart city development with 7 key principles; Smart Environment, Smart Living, Smart People, Smart Governance, Smart Economy, Smart Mobility, and Smart Energy, in accordance with the Thai government and private sector’s support. Let’s find out about the challenges and opportunities of a Smart City in Thailand, including a New S-Curve Project Management, a Maturity Model, and the ultimate benefits of a Smart City for long-term sustainability through the new episode of open talk interview (EP.22).
